Overview

Chematek is seeking a Global IT Manager to lead and evolve our worldwide IT operations. Based at our headquarters in Milan, this role will manage a growing team of IT professionals and play a key role in shaping the group’s strategic technology direction. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and people-focused leader with a strong foundation in infrastructure, cybersecurity, software systems, and IT compliance.

As Chematek expands globally, the Global IT Manager will be instrumental in harmonizing platforms, overseeing vendor and project management, and driving digital transformation—including data strategy and AI adoption—at a scalable and cost-effective level for an international SME environment.

Our core technology stack includes Microsoft Office / Azure AD, Jira (ticketing), HubSpot (CRM), Business Central (ERP – Italy and India), and Xero / Unleashed (subsidiaries), with a roadmap to unify systems globally under Business Central.

Role Description

The Global IT Manager is responsible for overseeing and integrating all aspects of Chematek’s global IT operations. This includes leading the internal IT team, managing vendors, ensuring system-wide security and compliance, and optimizing infrastructure and applications. The role will require collaboration with stakeholders at all levels and across all regions to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable technology services.

The successful candidate will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator—able to design and execute IT roadmaps while supporting day-to-day operations and user enablement across diverse levels of IT literacy.

Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)

• Lead and manage the global IT team (currently 5 team members) across various time zones and geographies
• Develop and oversee Chematek’s IT strategy, ensuring alignment with business growth and transformation goals
• Maintain and enhance IT infrastructure (on-premises and cloud-based), cybersecurity frameworks, and system compliance
• Design, implement, and maintain a standardized international Information Security Management System (ISMS) in line with ISO 27001 principles
• Oversee global software stack, including Business Central ERP, Microsoft 365, Azure, Jira, HubSpot, and other SaaS platforms
• Manage IT vendors, licensing, procurement processes, and outsourcing contracts
• Define and manage IT projects across six operational streams

• Conduct periodic site visits to subsidiaries (e.g., India, China, USA, UK, Australia) to support local IT integration and alignment

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• Proven experience (7+ years) in IT leadership roles within international, multi-site organizations
• Strong technical knowledge in infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms (especially Microsoft Azure), and cybersecurity frameworks
• Demonstrated success in project management and vendor negotiation
• Practical experience in developing and maintaining an Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO 27001 or similar standards
• Strategic mindset with the ability to execute both long-term vision and operational needs
• Exceptional communication skills in English and Italian—both verbal and written
• Ability to lead teams across diverse cultures and technical backgrounds
• Experience with ERP systems (ideally Business Central) and CRM tools (HubSpot or equivalent)
• Familiarity with data architecture, reporting systems, and early-stage AI integration
• Enthusiastic about driving IT transformation in a fast-moving, SME environment
• Willingness to travel internationally to support IT operations across Chematek subsidiaries
