ABB Smart Power seeks a senior global sourcing professional to lead electronic component sourcing, RFQ/RFP processes, and cost optimization across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with R&D and Agile teams to align suppliers with ABB procurement policies.

This hybrid role offers international travel up to 20–30%, exposure to strategic supplier relationships, and the chance to contribute to sustainability and delivery reliability across global markets.

Competenze

• 5–10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, electronic components, or supply chain roles.
• Enhanced knowledge of electronic components and semiconductor market dynamics.
• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or related field.
• English is essential; Italian/French/Chinese/German are advantageous.
• Willing to travel internationally up to 20–30%.
• CPSM, CIPS or equivalent certifications are a plus.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support global sourcing initiatives and category strategies for electronic components across ABB's Smart Power division. Each day, you will leverage your technical and commercial expertise to ensure suppliers meet business requirements while optimizing cost, quality, delivery, reliability and sustainability. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring purchasing activities align with ABB procurement policies and procedures. The work model for the role is: hybrid

• Supporting the definition, development, and implementation of global sourcing strategies for Active, Passive, and Power Electronic Components in close alignment with the global category leader.
• Collaborating with Agile Teams and R&D to support component selection, develop sourcing strategies and mitigate supply risks across the product lifecycle.
• Leading global RFQ/RFP processes, conducting cost benchmarking and TCO analyses and negotiating commercial agreements with electronic component and semiconductor suppliers.
• Developing and maintaining long‑term agreements and strategic supplier relationships while supporting supplier onboarding, evaluation and performance management.
• Monitoring semiconductor market trends, component lifecycles, and supplier performance to proactively manage risk and ensure supply continuity.
• Driving cost savings initiatives through competitive sourcing, volume consolidation, design‑to‑cost and value engineering programs.
• Supporting digital supply chain visibility through analytics and reporting while providing regular updates on category performance to senior management.
• Ensuring compliance with ABB procurement policies, trade compliance requirements and supplier sustainability standards.

Qualifications for the role

• Highly skilled in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management and supplier relationship management within the electronic components and semiconductor market.
• 5-10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, electronic components, or supply chain roles within EMS manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturers or similar industries.
• Enhanced knowledge of electronic components, PCBA sourcing, market dynamics and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• Passionate about collaboration, stakeholder management, negotiation and delivering results in complex global environments.
• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or a related field.
• At ease communicating in English; additional languages such as Italian, French, Chinese or German are an advantage.
• You are willing to travel internationally up to 20-30%.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS or equivalent are a plus.
