Founding Senior Software Engineer – Construction Tech Platform

Location : Turin, Italy (Hybrid)

Compensation : Competitive salary + founder-level equity

About the Company

We have partnered with an early‑stage startup based in Turin, on a mission to transform how buildings are designed and delivered. Their platform is redefining collaboration and efficiency in the construction industry, a space ready for true digital disruption. They're backed by experienced founders from design, software, and construction backgrounds, and we’re now looking for our Founding Senior Software Engineer to join them on this journey.

What You’ll Do

Own core product development : Build and optimise a fast, scalable backend and intuitive, high‑performing frontend. Design architecture from scratch: lead system design, database schema modelling, and API architecture. Develop type‑safe APIs using Next.js and TypeScript, connected to PostgreSQL via Drizzle ORM.

Shape beautiful, reusable UI components using React, Radix UI, Tailwind CSS, and React Query.

Ship fast and often: work end‑to‑end on new features – from concept and prototype to live product. Collaborate directly with the founders: your technical input will influence the roadmap, business strategy, and hiring as we grow.

What We’re Looking For

• Deep experience with React (v19), Next.js (App Router), and Tailwind CSS.
• Strong backend knowledge, particularly PostgreSQL or other relational databases. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and cloud infrastructure (Vercel, AWS EC2 / S3).
• A hands‑on builder comfortable in ambiguity – you thrive in the zero‑to‑one phase. 3+ years of software engineering experience and / or a Computer Science or similar technical background.
• Passion for clean, maintainable code, scalability, and product quality.

Bonus points for 3D / WebGL experience (Three.js, Autodesk Viewer). Real‑time communication experience (WebSocket, Socket.IO, ws). Email service integrations (SendGrid, Resend, Postmark, Nodemailer). Auth & RBAC systems (Clerk, NextAuth).

Tech Stack

• Frontend: Next.js App Router, React, React Query, Tailwind CSS, ShadCN, Radix UI.
• Backend: PostgreSQL with Drizzle ORM, React Server Actions.
• 3D Engine: Autodesk Viewer, Three.js.
• Dev Tools: GitHub, Vercel, Neon, Figma.
