Role Overview

Fluidic Components Design Engineer – Hardware Owner (Accessories Design). Responsible for the full lifecycle of fluidic components including concept studies, design, validation, production, and field service for next‑generation mechanical transmissions, engines, and control systems.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Capture system requirements, flow‑down to assess component architecture and key characteristics.
  • Collect, bargain, and release technical requirements for pumps, filters, valves, tanks, heat exchangers, cooling fans, and sensors.
  • Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in 2D cross‑sections, 3D models, tolerance stack‑ups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and inspection.
  • Lead and execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned components using sound engineering principles and business standards.
  • Ensure design and hardware deliverables to internal and external customers within agreed deadlines.
  • Issue technical documents such as presentations, analysis reports, deliverables, certification reports, and design record books.
  • Proactively serve as presenter in technical and program reviews with senior engineers, program leaders, external companies, suppliers, and customers.
  • Prepare test plans, define pass/fail criteria, post‑process data, and correlate results with physics phenomena.
  • Support source technology substantiation and non‑conformance assessments (MRB).
  • Support activities related to component performance investigations (test requests, data post‑process, laboratory investigation).
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Physics, or related STEM field from an accredited university.
  • Robust knowledge of mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations, hydraulic, and electrical disciplines.
  • Knowledge in defining fluidic component design intent, lead analysis, support reviews, procurement, and validation in the full product lifecycle.
  • Proven experience on fluidic mechanical components (valves, pumps, filters, pipes, sensors, fans, heat exchangers) and fluidic systems (fuel, oil, air) preferably in aviation.
  • Fundamental knowledge of CAD (preferable Unigraphics) and GD&T.
  • Practical use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Great accountability, collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Capability to interface with internal departments and manage technical relationships with external companies, suppliers, and customers.
  • Fluent in Italian and proficiency in written and oral English.
  • Work visa in accordance with local regulation is required.
