Primary Purpose Of The Position

Goodyear Tire Intelligence Solutions (GTIS) is the company's global tire intelligence technology platform. With GTIS, data from a variety of on‑vehicle sensors is sent to Goodyear’s mobility cloud in real time, where proprietary algorithms indicate tire health, deliver performance insights over time, and detect potential issues so operators can pursue proactive maintenance. GTIS provides a suite of products that work within the platform to enable seamless, safe, and reliable movement for drivers, vehicles, operators, municipalities, original equipment manufacturers, and suppliers.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct troubleshooting activities and diagnostic tests related to performance, durability, and safety of automotive components and tire intelligence applications.
  • Utilize analytical and problem‑solving skills to address mechanical challenges in a professional manner.
  • Assist in the creation of technical documents and installation training tools.
  • Work closely with engineering resources and develop positive knowledge‑transfer relationships.
  • Maintain a continuous process‑improvement mentality and effectively communicate feedback to relevant personnel.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Application Engineer and apply a general understanding of automotive processes and standards.
  • Display a commitment to OSHA (or region equivalent) safety standards and maintain a professional image and work environment.
  • Perform support roles in technology training.
  • Create quality documentation on test results and provide detailed reports on system performance.
  • Collect, decipher, and analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Operate as an ambassador of the GTIS department to internal and external entities.
  • Effectively coach and train others.
  • Maintain a train‑the‑trainer mentality and always be prepared to invest knowledge into internal and external customers.
Education And Experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
  • OR a minimum of 4–5 years of industry experience if the highest level of education is high‑school qualification, including:
    • Experience working with commercial vehicles in a fleet environment.
    • Proven experience as an engineering technician, preferably in the automotive industry.
    • Experience in cross‑functional assignments or projects.
    • Ability to interpret and modify electrical schematics and wiring harnesses.
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous learning mentality exemplified by application of knowledge gained through additional education, experience, or training.
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel 25% – 50%.
