G.M. International is seeking a firmware engineer to join its R&D team in Lombardy. You will select microprocessors, craft firmware from requirements, and debug prototypes using lab instrumentation.

The role emphasizes functional safety, industrial protocols, cyber security, and programming in Visual Basic/C# or C. A background in Electronics/Electrical/Communications is preferred and office-based work in Villasanta is expected.

Competenze

• Good knowledge of functional safety (IEC 61508).
• Good knowledge of industrial protocols (MODBUS, HART, PROFINET, etc.).
• Basic knowledge of cyber security (IEC 62443).
• Some knowledge of high-level programming languages (Visual Basic, C#, or Visual C).

Mansioni

• To select the most suitable microprocessors for a given application.
• To design a piece of firmware starting from the product requirements, the schematic and the technical specifications.
• To debug the prototypes with lab instrumentation.
• To analyze the designed circuits in terms of code coverage, overall circuit power dissipation, overall circuit accuracy, functional safety, cyber security, etc.

The candidate, inserted into our R&D team, will have to work of the following activities:

• To select the most suitable microprocessors for a given application;
• To design a piece of firmware starting from the product requirements, the schematic and the technical specifications;
• To debug the prototypes with lab instrumentation;
• To analyze the designed circuits in terms of code coverage, overall circuit power dissipation, overall circuit accuracy, functional safety, cyber security, etc.

Requisiti:

The ideal candidate must possess the following characteristics:

• Good knowledge of functional safety (IEC 61508);
• Good knowledge of industrial protocols (MODBUS, HART, PROFINET, etc.);
• Basic knowledge of cyber security (IEC 62443);
• Some knowledge of high-level programming language, in particular Visual Basic, C#, or Visual C, etc.

• EDUCATION: High-School degree (minimum) or Master degree in Electronics/Electrical/Communication Engineering (best);
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Intermediate (minimum) English Level (especially reading comprehension of technical language is required);
• INFORMATICS SKILLS: Windows, Office package (Word, Excel). IAR Compiler professional knowledge. C language programming.
