Overview

For our office in Milan, we are looking for a Financial Project Manager (FPM) to join Aquila Clean Energy EMEA. The Financial Project Management team provides comprehensive oversight of projects, working with Investment Management, Development & Construction, Finance, Legal, Controlling, and other functions throughout the development and construction phases of photovoltaic, agri-photovoltaic, and battery energy storage (BESS) plants, up to the sale of the asset or transition to Asset Management. Company: Aquila Clean Energy EMEA is a developer of integrated & hybrid clean energy solutions and an independent power producer. Since 2006, we have developed and operated renewable energy projects, bringing over 2.5 GW to commercial operation and maintaining an advanced development and construction pipeline of over 13 GW across 13 European countries.

Responsibilities
  • Define and manage project treasury, coordinating capital calls with headquarters.
  • Update and monitor project expenditure forecasts, analyze deviations and root causes, and provide action plans to mitigate them.
  • Support management of investments from acquisition through asset delivery or sale.
  • Oversee contract management throughout the project lifecycle (land, engineering, developers, etc.), including monitoring contractual deadlines and payment commitments.
  • Organize and maintain all project-related information in structured databases to ensure efficient data retrieval and reporting for Development, Investment Management, and Controlling.
  • Assist in the preparation and updating of monthly reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions for project needs, including opening credit lines and/or bank guarantees.
  • Coordinate and manage brokers for the placement of insurance policies and guarantees.
What are we looking for?
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in project management, asset management, or business operations within the renewable energy sector with economic and financial responsibilities.
  • Language skills: Italian (C1 or above) and English (B2 or above).
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving attitude and ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, in dynamic and international environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience in multinational companies or international environments.
  • Knowledge of additional foreign languages.
  • Interest in both technical and commercial aspects of energy sector transactions (wind, photovoltaic, storage).
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
