Overview
The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall financial direction of the firm, achieving financial goals and establishing the organization’s long-term financial vision. This individual will lead financial reporting, manage fiscal responsibilities, establish accounting policies and practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, as well as drive budget and forecast activities. This manager has ongoing interaction with company’s partners and management team, requiring robust leadership abilities which translate into increased performance and profitability. Must possess strong work ethics, excellent organizational and multitasking abilities and great interpersonal / communication skills. The individual in this position will be working closely with the leadership team and is projected to grow with the organization in upcoming years to a role of regional responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Provides financial direction to the firm
- Has ongoing interaction with company’s partners and management to gather, analyze, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business planning, trended future requirements and operating forecasts among others
- Leads financial reporting and development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements
- Creates and communicate accounting policies, practices, and procedures with department and company managers and officials, vendors, reporting agencies, clients, and customers
- Oversees cash flow and financial instruments
- Oversees cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation and ensure timely financial statements
- Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations
- Appraises the organization’s financial position and issue periodic reports on organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth
- Analyzes operational issues impacting functional groups and the whole institution, and determine their financial impact
- Establishes and maintains contacts with financial institutions
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
- Establishes procedures for custody and control of assets and records
- Reviews collection reports to determine the status of collections and the amounts of outstanding balances
- Makes strategic recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
- Analyzes monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
- Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local tax returns
- Responsible for managing and supervising the Finance department
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in accounting and / or Finance
- Bi-lingual English / Italian; Spanish is a must
- A minimum of 7-10 years of Agency and / or other service-firm related accounting / finance experience including Financial Planning and Analysis and Project Management experience
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience required
- Live in Milan
- Paprika software experience is a big plus
