Job summary

Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG) seeks a Finance Manager for METT Milan Torre Velasca, a new Residences & Suites project in Milan. You will own the finance function, combining hands-on accounting with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis, partnering with the General Manager and senior leadership.

This standalone role offers growth into senior management and requires a Finance-related degree, 3+ years in a senior finance role in hospitality, fluency in Italian and English,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 3 years in a Finance Manager or senior finance role within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of Italian accounting and tax regulations; IFRS knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance and accounting operations for METT Milan Torre Velasca.
• Act as financial partner to GM, Senior Management and Department Heads with insights for decisions.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting with targets and risk/opportunity analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance analysis.
• Manage month-end close, AP/AR, GL, income audit, reconciliations and payroll.
• Oversee cash flow, banking, working capital and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with Italian accounting and tax requirements.
• Manage capex, fixed assets, inventory and project-related finance.

From the Sunset Hotels & Resorts division, we are seeking a Finance Manager for METT Milan Torre Velasca, our new Residences & Suites project located in the iconic Torre Velasca, right in the heart of Milan. In this key role, you will take ownership of the finance function, combining hands-on financial and accounting management with budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis. Working closely with the General Manager and senior finance leadership, you will provide financial insights to support business decisions and contribute to the successful opening and long-term development of the property. This standalone role offers the opportunity to grow into a more senior management position over time.

Main responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of METT Milan Torre Velasca, ensuring accurate, timely and efficient financial management in a highly hands-on role.
• Act as a financial business partner to the General Manager, Senior Management and Department Heads, providing financial insights and guidance to support business decisions, cost control and overall performance.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with the management team to set targets, monitor performance and identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and oversee monthly financial reporting, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, flash reporting and variance analysis, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with corporate requirements.
• Manage the day-to-day accounting and month-end closing, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, income audit, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, payroll and revenue-related activities, personally supporting operational tasks when required.
• Oversee cash flow, banking, working capital and payment processes, ensuring effective cash management and appropriate financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with Italian accounting and tax requirements, including VAT and other statutory filings, while maintaining effective financial policies, procedures and internal controls and coordinating with external advisors and auditors.
• Manage Capex, fixed assets, inventory and project-related financial activities, and lead the finance workstream for the opening and operation of the Residences, including systems, processes, reporting and financial controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of Italian accounting and tax regulations, including OIC accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements; working knowledge of IFRS principles is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with finance, property management and point-of-sale systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
• Solid understanding of income audit, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, month-end closing, Capex, fixed assets and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a structured and organised approach.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Proactive, hands-on and collaborative approach, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Annual gross salary (RAL): 45.000€ – 50.000€, depending on experience and qualifications.
