Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented, and organized Accountant responsible for maintaining accurate financial and accounting records, handling day-to-day accounting tasks, managing journal entries, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role will play a key part in driving data-driven decision-making across the business by providing insights into financial performance, accounting, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of accounting principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency in financial software.
Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions (e.g., purchases, receipts, sales, payments)
- Perform reconciliations of accounts
- Prepare invoices and track accounts receivable/payable
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and annual closing processes.
- Liaises with stakeholders to prepare tax returns and ensure timely submission of tax-related documents; support audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control.
- Maintain and improve financial databases and reporting systems
- Supports the Financial Director in monitoring compliance by maintaining and ensuring accounting and company procedures
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance and/or related field
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a must
- A minimum of 2-5 years of Agency and/or other service-firm or professional services related accounting/finance experience
- Lives at Milan
- Paprika software experience is a big plus
