Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as a Field Service Engineer for ABB Measurement & Analytics in IT Country, focusing on Field Instrumentation products and instrumentation service sales. The role requires expertise in ABB's range of field instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement devices. Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient service execution and contribute to service business growth. Responsibilities include commissioning, preventive and corrective maintenance, service contracts, telephonic support, and coordination of expert service teams when required. Additionally, the role involves generating service sales opportunities by actively engaging with customers. Be ready to travel within the region and globally if needed.The work model for the role is #LI-Hybrid with a mix (80% -20%) of Field activities in Italy and activities based in ABB plant: Sesto San Giovanni or Tremezzina (CO) based on candidate location.You will be mainly accountable for:• Executing after-sales service activities, including commissioning, calibration, and preventive maintenance of ABB’s field instrumentation—both onsite and remotely.• Providing technical support and troubleshooting (remote and onsite) to ensure high-quality service and customer satisfaction.• Promoting ABB’s service portfolio, including digital solutions, through installed base (IB) discovery and upselling opportunities.• Participating in customer FAT, Pre-FAT, SAT, and other site-related activities.• Ensuring compliance with global and local safety, operational, and industry standards.• Managing service documentation and contributing to continuous process improvement.• Supporting the sales team with service proposals and contract development.• Coordinating with factories and subcontractors to deliver seamless service execution.• Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance digital service offerings.• Delivering training to customers and partners on ABB’s field instrumentation solutions.• Monitoring and achieving service KPIs while identifying and addressing customer needs proactively.You will join a dynamic team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role
  • You hold a technical Diploma or a bachelor degree Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
  • You have at least 4/5 years of experience in field instrumentation service.
  • Familiarity with digitalization and remote service solutions is required.
  • You have strong knowledge of ABB’s Field Instrumentation product portfolio.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with multinational teams.
  • Technical presales experience is an added advantage.
  • You are at ease communicating proficiently in Italian and at a good level in English (B1 level).
  • You hold a valid driving license.
