A leading industrial automation manufacturer located in Italy seeks a Mechanical Electrical Service Engineer to provide technical support across various regions. Ideal candidates should have over 2 years of experience with complex systems, including PLCs and frequency converters. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and operational support, with travel required. A driving license and the right to work in Italy are necessary for this position.

This leading industrial automation manufacturer has grown 20% over the past 12 months and, in line with the acquisition of new customers and market demand for their equipment, they have ambitious plans to expand their support function across Europe.
Operating in rapidly expanding markets such as pharmaceuticals and recognised for offering some of the industry’s most advanced equipment, they pride themselves on their detailed attention to customer needs and dedication to the highest standards of performance and quality.
As a Mechanical Electrical Service Engineer / Service Technician you will work from a home office and be responsible for :
The successful candidate will possess at least 2+ years of service engineering / technician experience, gained working on complex equipment, which could include but is not limited to Industrial Automation, Robotics, Scientific Equipment, Food Processing, Logistics Automation, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Metalworking Equipment, Robotic Welding, Robotic Spraying, Medical, Biomedical, Scientific or other high‑value complex equipment.
Past experience working on Siemens PLCs, Danfoss Frequency Converters, Schneider DC Motors and ABB Pluto Safety PLCs would be highly advantageous.
Candidates must speak advanced level English, a good level of Italian, and be multiskilled across mechanical and electrical. You must be comfortable with travel and nights away when needed.
An education or qualifications to work on 400V systems is required, as is a logical and methodical approach to finding fault and the ability to read electrical schematics.
A valid local driving license is essential, as is the right to work in Italy. My client doesn’t offer sponsorship.
