Job summary

Applied Materials in Lombardy, Italy, seeks an Installation Engineer for the iTeam to lead installation of semiconductor production equipment across Europe. You will assemble, connect, and test systems, travel about 75% of the time, and hand over to service teams for wafer manufacturing.

The role requires a technical background, strong English, autonomy, and project management skills. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to participate in international installations and continuous

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master degree with technical background (mechanical assembly, equipment installation, maintenance, mechatronics, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or similar).
Position open to junior profiles.
Troubleshooting skills to solve mechanical and electrical issues during system installation.
Ability to communicate daily pass-downs and equipment status reports.
Project management skills to control installation project within budget, timeline and installation quality requirements.
Ability to work autonomously.
Good English communication skills both written and verbal.
Good Knowledge of the MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint)

Responsibilities

Perform independently installation tasks (mechanical assembly, electrical connections, robot calibrations), from the integration to the inspection of the tools including troubleshooting in case of issues.
Follow all checklists and procedures and ensure correct procedures and schematics are available prior to performing work.
Test equipment with assistance from senior engineers, existing documentation and diagnostic techniques.
Respond to factory issues by communicating with other engineers and participating in escalation conference calls.
Participate in continuous improvement projects to reduce installation cycle time and costs.
Provide accurate reporting of status, hours worked and non-conformances.
Adhere to the security policy and quality standards of Applied Materials and its customers.
