Syensqo is seeking an EU Industrial Compounding Technology Leader to bridge technology, manufacturing, and innovation across extrusion and compounding operations. You’ll partner with plant teams, maintenance and suppliers to solve challenges and bring new products to production.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, safety leadership, and strategic thinking to boost reliability, productivity and sustainability while enabling growth and customer-focused innovation.

Competenze

• B.S. or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in extrusion operations or manufacturing.
• Travel willingness for training and projects to regional facilities.
• Strong safety and environmental orientation.
• Familiarity with specialty polymers is a plus but not required.
• Familiarity with PSM and OSHA 1910 standards is required.
• Desirable competencies: CAD, SAP/PM, PIMS and SCADA systems.
• Ability to wear PPE incl. FRC clothing, steel toes, hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses.

We are looking for:

EU Industrial Compounding Technology Leader

This role exists to bridge technology, manufacturing, and innovation to ensure our extrusion and compounding operations run safely, reliably, and efficiently while enabling future growth. The successful candidate will partner closely with plant teams, maintenance, suppliers, and R&I colleagues to solve real-world manufacturing challenges, improve operational performance, and bring new products and capabilities from concept to commercial production.

At its core, this position is about making a meaningful impact on the plant every day. Whether troubleshooting production issues on the manufacturing floor, driving safety and sustainability improvements, optimizing processes, or leading capital projects, the focus is on helping people and systems perform at their best. The role combines hands‑on problem solving with strategic thinking to increase reliability, productivity, and operational excellence while ensuring the business can continue to innovate and meet customer needs.

The primary challenge of this role is to ensure extrusion and compounding processes operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while continuously improving performance. Key objectives include solving production issues, optimizing process capability, leading capital and reliability improvements, leveraging data to drive operational excellence, and successfully scaling new products from R&D to manufacturing. Success is measured through improvements in safety, productivity, quality, sustainability, equipment reliability, and overall plant performance.

You will bring

A successful self‑starting engineer combines technical expertise, operational engagement, strong safety leadership, and personal accountability to identify opportunities, solve complex manufacturing challenges, and drive continuous improvement without requiring constant direction.

Specific requirements are:

• B. S. or graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• 3-7 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering of extrusion operations is desired
• Must be willing to travel for training and projects to regional manufacturing facilities
• Must have a strong safety and environmental orientation
• Familiarity with specialty polymers business is considered a plus but is not required
• Familiarity with PSM and OSHA 1910 standards is required
• Desired competencies include: CAD, SAP/PM, PIMS and Scada systems
• Ability to wear PPE including FRC clothing, steel toe shoes, hard hat, ear plugs, and safety glasses
