Canadian School of Florence is a K-12 school with students from 3 to 18. The lower primary (Pre‑Kindergarten to grade 3) campus is in San Domenico, Fiesole. The Upper primary campus (Grades 4–6) and Middle School campus (Grades 7–8) are also located in a nearby piazza. The Senior School (Grades 9–12) is in Florence, in a beautiful historical building, less than 2 km away from the Junior school.
Across all our campuses, courses are taught in English (except for Italian and French), based on the Canada (Ontario) curriculum with preparation, in Italian, for the Italian national exams as a “paritaria” school. Our students work towards gaining the Ontario Secondary School Diploma which is recognised by universities worldwide. We also offer the Liceo delle Scienze Umane at our high school providing an opportunity for our students to gain a dual diploma.
The Ontario curriculum combines the best of Canadian and International educational practices into proven academic programmes aimed at developing students’ independent learning, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills. Through this integrated approach, we strive to develop well‑rounded global citizens who are prepared for, and can adapt to, an ever‑changing world. We continually develop life skills including respect, responsibility, perseverance, collaboration, empathy, and integrity. This approach encourages students to reach their full potential.
As an international school located in Italy, we embrace and celebrate our diverse cultural background while creating an environment in which students can learn from one another and celebrate each other’s differences. Our locations in Florence and Fiesole provide a stimulating and welcoming environment in which to work and a beautiful place to live.
Canadian School of Florence is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under‑represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
Successful applications will be subject to child protection screening, including robust vetting procedures, checks with past employers, and relevant safeguarding assessments.
