AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.

Responsibilities

• Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
• Drive projects with moderate complexity.
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Perform rack installs, rack decommissioning, operational readings and facility management.
• Provide key performance indicators to senior engineers.
• Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring all work is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Adhere to all safety procedures while performing work.
• Support ticketing systems, root cause analysis, change management, writing procedures and building management systems.
• Work schedule may include up to 12-hour shifts, rotations and on-call rotations depending on site needs.
• Maintain data center critical infrastructure equipment ensuring 99.999% uptime.
• Support more than one location/site.
• Walk job sites in uneven terrain while maintaining balance and performing construction tasks while on a ladder.
• Lift and move up to 39 pounds unassisted and participate in group lifts for 40+ pounds.
• Perform hands, fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs, twist, bend, work above shoulders, grasp, carry, push and pull physical tasks.

Basic Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma.
• Technical training or 2+ years of electrical or mechanical, HVAC, fire system experience in a mission-critical infrastructure.
• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree.
