ADay in the Life of the EMEA Product Manager
As a highly experienced Product Manager, you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and IT capabilities, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. You are responsible for maturing business capabilities through technological solutions. In this role, you will constantly manage the right balance between harmonizing capabilities & processes, and solutions, and suggesting specific enhancements to support a business's differentiation in the market.
Your day-to-day activities require a balance of business and IT strategic foresight, enabling operational execution through product owners, IT project managers, development, and delivery teams. This enables you to effectively manage diverse stakeholder expectations while delivering impactful technology solutions tailored to the dynamic healthcare landscape in EMEA.
As a Product Manager, you play a central role in defining what gets built, why, and in what order. You sit at the intersection ofbusiness, technology, and user experience. Your influence stems from clarity of vision, effective prioritization, and strong communication.
As a strategic capability advisor and facilitator, you frequently ensure that all initiatives are prioritized and supported by robust business cases, aligning with overall commercial objectives. Your knowledge of technology and strong business acumen enable you to proactively identify challenges, advocate for integration, and support the implementation and adoption of transformative digital solutions.
Your strong partnerships with stakeholders and collaborative relationships with IT colleagues are instrumental to success. You will define the Product Roadmap for your business capability, ensuring compliance, usability, and value, while managing the product budget and TCO. Working closely with architects, product owners, and data specialists, you translate strategic vision into actionable IT solutions and services.
Typically, your day begins with status meetings with Product Owners regarding ongoing business initiatives. This is followed by discussions with fellow Product Managers about opportunities to ensure the business capabilities and business processes will work end-to-end, focusing on needs assessment, business case development, roadmap prioritization, and funding allocation. For instance, as the Product Manager supporting our ERP programme, you may explore initiatives that help our commercial, supply chain, customer care, and finance teams fully realise the benefits of our new SAP S/4HANA platform. You might evaluate how to simplify complex operational processes, enhance data quality, and remove friction from order‑to‑cash, pricing, bundles, capital equipment, or master data flows that were transformed through ERP. You could shape improvements that unlock the commercial advantages the programme enables such as cross‑divisional selling, enhanced rebate and pricing capabilities, or more reliable and timely visibility of orders and inventory.
A major part of your role will focus on supporting deployment and adoption across EMEA. This may involve designing and coordinating deployment readiness activities, aligning with markets on local process impacts, ensuring master data and operational teams are prepared for cutover, and working with training and change‑management partners to ensure users can adopt new S/4HANA‑driven ways of working. You will use insights from stabilisation, hypercare, and market feedback to identify where further enhancements are needed, prioritise them, and work with technical and global teams to shape the roadmap for future releases.
To achieve these outcomes, you will collaborate with global ERP teams, enterprise architects, data owners, process leads, and multiple EMEA functions. You will surface regional needs, ensure global capabilities can scale successfully across our markets, and contribute to the sequencing of releases and benefits activation. This collaboration will help identify when and how new features, processes, or data improvements should be incorporated into the post‑Magellan roadmap.
There are numerous opportunities in this role for you to drive stabilisation, unlock business value, and enable continuous improvement across our transformed S/4HANA landscape — making a measurable impact on how Boston Scientific operates across EMEA.
You will also represent your capabilities in global project conversations. In this capacity, you serve as an EMEA trusted advisor, facilitating alignment and ensuring value realization for the business.
This role requires experience of deploying and managing enterprise ERP programmes, combined with product management as we shape the future.
