EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER at Thales

CANDIDATES THAT WOULD IMPRESS US
- You graduated with a Master of Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- You enjoy working within a DevOps/Agile/Scrum team and thrive in a challenging, reactive environment.
- You want to evolve in a “real time” environment with interactions between low‑level hardware and high‑level functionality.
- You are willing to work on small or large devices such as radar, embedded calculators, smartcards and wearables for telecommunications and IoT.
COMPETENCIES
- Experience developing on embedded OS such as Linux, VxWorks, FastOS Linux.
- Proficient in C, C++, and optionally VB, .NET, Ada, or Assembly programming.
- Familiar with performance programming tools and measurement instruments.
- Ability to develop/adapt simulation tools for integration/testing.
- Experience with embedded system and application design, configuration, and communication protocols (e.g., DDS, ARINC).
- Knowledge of data processes strategy, mathematics, statistics and data technologies.
- Understanding of customer needs and ability to translate them into solutions.
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
- Experience with automated deployment tools (Helm, Yaml, Ansible, Docker).
- Familiar with JIRA and Confluence.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
- Design, implement and test features with scalability, performance, deployment, operation, and end‑user experience in mind.
- Apply code‑implementation best practices to produce elegant, high‑quality reusable code.
- Implement and follow security best practices for web applications.
- Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge and improve the overall product/solution.
- Keep up‑to‑date with latest technologies, evolution, and frameworks.
- Interact with UX team to implement and verify user experience concepts.
- Follow the agile methodology used for the project, including creation of user stories and tasks.
- Regularly archive source code into the source code repository.
- Participate in issue investigation and deployment of applications in testing/integration environments.
