Job summary

AMETEK Inc. in Italy is seeking a Model Shop Technician to build prototypes and samples of electric motors (brushed, brushless, and stepper) according to drawings and specs.

You will support performance, safety and reliability tests and help develop rotors, stators and complete motors. The ideal candidate has a Technical High School Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, at least 3 years hands-on prototype experience, and proficiency with winding, welding, balancing machines, lathes,

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building prototypes and samples.
• Experience operating winding, welding and balancing machines.
• Ability to operate lathes and milling machines for parts manufacture/modification.
• Basic electrical knowledge required.
• Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Build prototypes and samples of rotors, stators and motors based on drawings and specs.
• Perform performance, safety and reliability tests on motors and components.
• Manage inventory of materials for prototype construction.
• Prepare special packaging for shipment of prototypes and samples.
• Support Manufacturing in building Check Samples and Pilot Runs.
