Job summary

BIP is seeking an Edge Software Developer to join our IoT Centre of Excellence in Rome. You will develop robust Go-based software for edge computing, using MQTT, NATS, Kafka, REST, gRPC, and industrial protocols. You will work in an interfunctional team with end-to-end responsibility.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Golang with advanced features and standard library.
• Experience in microservices design and containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write concurrent programs with knowledge of threading and non-blocking I/O.
• Experience with unit/integration tests and performance profiling/debugging.
• Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD workflows and shell scripting.
• Excellent knowledge of the Linux OS.
• Agile/Scrum development experience; familiarity with Kanban or TDD.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Plus knowledge of industrial protocols: IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850 MMS/ GOOSE/ SV, ModBUS RTU/TCP, OPC UA/ DA
