About the location

Overlooking the Venetian Lagoon and just steps from Piazza San Marco, Danieli, a Four Seasons Hotel, Venice is an iconic property offering elegant, spacious accommodations. The historic hotel showcases majestic Venetian architecture dating back to the 14th century. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views of Venice’s landmarks from the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli.

About the Role

As the Director of Learning & Development, you will be responsible for delivering workplace learning, performance improvement programs, and strategic initiatives that drive long-term business success. You will identify, design, and implement learning strategies aligned with the hotel's vision and goals, promote a culture of continuous learning, and ensure employees are equipped with the skills required to deliver service excellence. You will also partner closely with key stakeholders and leadership to ensure development needs are identified and met effectively.

What You Will Do
  • Lead and manage the Learning & Development function across the hotel.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments and align learning programs to business objectives.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate engaging learning experiences using modern methodologies.
  • Deliver impactful in-person and digital training sessions across all levels of the organization.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and coach to department heads and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure training supports performance excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Champion a strong learning culture through on-the-job coaching, feedback, and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Support succession planning and career development initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Manage training budgets and learning resources efficiently.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Education, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Learning & Development leadership role.
  • Background in adult education, hospitality operations, or service industries—luxury experience preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and instructional design skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; a second language is an asset.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, needs assessment methodologies, and learning technologies.
  • Proficiency in planning tools, project management, and basic budgeting.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Schedule & Hours
  • Full-time position based at Hotel Danieli, Venice.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must have the legal right to work in Italy.
