How you will make an impact in this role
- Lead the Regulatory Advisory Team as Director, acting as the primary senior point of reference for all regulatory matters
- Provide authoritative interpretation and guidance on all applicable regulations
- Support strategic initiatives and business decisions by assessing regulatory impacts and advising senior stakeholders and committees
- Monitor regulatory developments at national, EU, and international levels, translating them into actionable guidance for the business
- Strengthen internal governance through policies, frameworks, and risk assessments
- Handle supervisory interactions and requests for information
- Oversee regulatory aspects of product development and lifecycle management for issuing and acquiring services
- Collaborate with other Compliance teams, including international teams, to ensure a coordinated approach
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of regulatory specialists, fostering a risk‑culture of excellence
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Law
- +10 years of experience in Compliance or Legal roles, preferably within banking, financial services, or regulated fintech
- Extensive expertise in the regulatory framework governing payment services, including issuing and acquiring
- Proven experience managing interactions with supervisory authorities
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to provide pragmatic guidance to executive and business stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of clearly articulating complex regulatory topics
- Solid leadership capabilities with experience managing teams in dynamic and evolving environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a deadline‑intensive environment
- Fluency in Italian and English (both written and verbal); additional languages are an advantage
