Job Summary

As a Digital Drilling Engineer (DDE), you will support the deployment and adoption of DrillPlan, DrillOps and Drilling Data projects, helping our customers accelerate their transition toward data‑driven well delivery. This fresh‑graduate opportunity combines engineering fundamentals with digital transformation exposure in one of the industry’s most advanced technology environments.

During your first months, you will :
  • Contribute to ongoing digital drilling projects and customer engagements.
  • Learn to manage data preparation, well design, and reporting within digital workflows.
  • Participate in structured training on SLB’s drilling software while receiving one‑on‑one guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Gain hands‑on exposure through active project delivery, customer interactions, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will gradually develop expertise in digital well design, engineering analysis, and solution delivery frameworks, building a foundation to become an independent technical contributor supporting our European operations.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Support the implementation, adoption, and delivery of digital drilling projects.
  • Assist in the setup and coordination of digital well projects, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely execution.
  • Contribute to well design and planning activities, including trajectory analysis, risk assessment, and data validation.
  • Prepare and manage technical documentation, digital reports, and performance dashboards for internal and customer use.
  • Provide first‑line support to end users, addressing functional questions and escalating enhancement requests where required.
  • Participate in technical discussions to optimize customer workflows and propose continuous‑improvement actions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align engineering, data, and project‑delivery objectives.
  • Capture and communicate opportunities for software improvement or workflow efficiency gains to the digital organization.
  • Engage in customer review meetings, contributing to progress reporting, delivery updates, and value realization tracking.
  • Promote the adoption of digital drilling solutions by supporting user onboarding, access management, and feedback collection.
  • Maintain awareness of customer standards, operational procedures, and digital‑transformation objectives.
Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc degree in Petroleum or Drilling Engineering.
  • Academic or internship experience in drilling, well engineering, or digital energy environments.
  • Proficient in English and Italian, with clear and professional communication skills.
  • Right to work in Italy (EU citizenship or valid work authorization).
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
