A luxury cruise line company based in Naples is seeking a DevOps specialist to automate infrastructures and optimize application deployment processes. Applicants should have 2-4 years of experience in DevOps or SRE, a strong background in cloud infrastructures, and proficiency in automation tools. The role also involves collaborating with various teams to enhance services performance and reliability, making it essential to have strong communication skills in English.

Reporting to the IT Cloud Engineering Lead in Explora Journeys, our recently launched Luxury Cruises line of MSC, the DevOps specialist primary tasks will involve automating large-scale infrastructures, optimizing application deployment processes, and implementing data gathering and monitoring solutions to enhance our services performance and reliability.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•Design, develop, and maintain automation mechanisms and test execution for a large, multi-cloud environment, with a strong emphasis on automating testing processes to ensure software quality.

•Integrate and improve business-specific applications in Explora Journey’s infrastructure, employing advanced automated testing strategies to validate application functionality and performance.

•Collaborate with Explora Journeys’ architects, operations, and developments teams

•Design and implement infrastructures and applications CI/CD pipelines, including comprehensive automated testing stages to ensure continuous integration and delivery with high reliability and efficiency.

•Operates the infrastructure and application monitoring platforms utilizing automated testing tools to proactively identify and address potential issues.

General

•2-4 years of experience in Dev/Ops or SRE

•A bachelor's degree in information technologies or equivalent work experience

•Experience working within Kanban and Agile methodologies as a team member

•Fluent in English, spoken and written; Any other language is an asset

Infrastructures & platforms

•Proven experience with public cloud infrastructures usage; AWS preferred

•Proven experience with GNU/Linux (RHEL or Debian) usage and administration

•Experience with auto-scaling mechanisms

•Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem

•Distributions: EKS (cloud), vanilla (on-premises), and EKS anywhere (on-premises)

•Knowledge in different interfaces plugins (CRI, CNI, CSI, etc.) is an asset

Tools and methodologies

•Proven experience with GitOps concepts, methodologies, and tools; Ansible, Terraform and ArgoCD preferred

•Ansible: Experience in Python modules development is an asset

•Terraform: Experience with Terragrunt and Go modules development is an asset

•Experience working with GNU/Linux environment and tools

Development

•Proven experience with Python and Unix shell scripting; Any other language is an asset

•Knowledge in Java development is an asset

•Knowledge in designing and developing serverless applications is an asset

Monitoring and security

•Knowledge in monitoring & data analysis is an asset; Splunk and Elasticsearch preferred
