Overview

Development Mechanical Designer - Converting at Valmet. Location: Lucca, Italy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical equipment and devices for Valmet machinery in the Converting Roll sector.
  • Create mechanical groups and machine prototypes.
  • Perform component sizing and structural analysis using CAE tools.
  • Collaborate with other R&D areas (hardware, software, testing, and assembly) to identify optimal design solutions.
  • Research and apply new materials and technologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.
  • Provide effective solutions to support both process and product development initiatives.
To Succeed In This Role, You Should Have
  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in a technical role, preferably within tissue converting machinery.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD (Siemens NX) and CAE tools (Siemens Simcenter).
  • Familiarity with SAP and MS Office.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Italian.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Innovation-driven mindset with a focus on results.
  • Availability and willingness to travel occasionally.
