Overview
Development Mechanical Designer - Converting at Valmet. Location: Lucca, Italy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical equipment and devices for Valmet machinery in the Converting Roll sector.
- Create mechanical groups and machine prototypes.
- Perform component sizing and structural analysis using CAE tools.
- Collaborate with other R&D areas (hardware, software, testing, and assembly) to identify optimal design solutions.
- Research and apply new materials and technologies to enhance product performance and efficiency.
- Provide effective solutions to support both process and product development initiatives.
To Succeed In This Role, You Should Have
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in a technical role, preferably within tissue converting machinery.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD (Siemens NX) and CAE tools (Siemens Simcenter).
- Familiarity with SAP and MS Office.
- Excellent knowledge of English and Italian.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and teamwork skills.

- Availability and willingness to travel occasionally.
