Politecnico di Milano invites applications for a research position focused on developing lab-scale and modelling systems for green hydrogen production. The role involves high-temperature SOEC development for water electrolysis and integrating with chemical synthesis systems to optimise performance.
Applicants will conduct experiments, build first-principles models, and support technology transfer and field deployment.

The researcher will develop laboratory-scale and modelling systems for the production of green hydrogen and its conversion into sustainable fuels, based on technologies conceived and patented at Politecnico di Milano. In particular, a low-energy-demand, high-temperature SOEC system will be developed for water electrolysis and the production of hydrogen and oxygen. A first-principles, multiscale model will be developed to optimise electrolysis operation and its process integration with chemical synthesis systems. Experimental activities will provide the data required for model validation and tuning, industrial scale-up, and TEA/BEPD studies. The research deliverables will, in turn, provide the basis for technology transfer and field deployment of the developed solutions. Advanced use of programming tools (e.g., MS Visual C++) and process simulation software (e.g., Dynsim) will be considered a plus.
Oral test aimed at ascertaining candidates’ aptitude and suitability to carry out the activity covered by the contract, as well as at assessing their knowledge of English and/or other languages relevant to the activities to be performed (up to 50 points)
