Defence Project Manager
ART Group (Advanced Research Technology) is a company strongly focused on Research & Development and innovation. It delivers high-performance electronic systems and products for the Automotive, Motorcycle, Defense, and Railway sectors.
In the last 20 years it has evolved from the development of telemetry systems for Formula 1 to infotainment systems, parking systems and connected telemetry, addressing the Luxury Car segment.
Job Purpose
The PROJECT MANAGER oversees the planning, implementation, tracking and controlling of all assigned projects which have a beginning, an end and specified deliverables, in accordance with budget, timing, quality and customer expectations. Projects assigned include both engineering development phase and production.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify the scope of the project and create the general plan of the Project
- Identify and manage stakeholders
- Support Sales in the acquisition of new orders with preparation of project management contractual data deliverables regarding cost performance, schedule performance, risk, and technical performance
- Responsible for Final Cost, Scope, Quality and Timing targets within the Project Management Company guidelines
- Lead Core Team members from Nomination phase until the stabilization of quality, production capacity and EOL
- Manage planned activities through Project Reviews and the compliance with internal / customer Milestones
- Organize Team meetings in adequate frequency for each on-going project to follow targets until handover to serial production
- Communication hub to Core team and stakeholders involved in the Project
- Interface with Customers and Management
- Ensure systematic reporting to the Management about projects progress in according to company KPI and policies
- Manage issue logs and risk management plans in order to provide warnings of serious deviations or variations that may compromise project results and promote corrective actions
- Ensure the creation and utilization of Lesson Learned
- Ensure the deployment of ART Standard Product Development Methodology, Product libraries, Quality tools/methods and standardization of solutions, in collaboration with Product Development, Quality and Manufacturing Department
- Protect confidentiality of project data
- Help build up a supportive culture of cooperation and team work with the project
- Manage subcontracting and purchasing efforts in relation to project successful execution
- Responsible for overall customer satisfaction
- Make critical project decisions that best balance technical performance, schedule performance, and cost
- Availability to travel up to 25%

Background and Education
- Master’s degree in engineering, or other related discipline (Mechanic, Electronic, Management)
- English Language is required as proficient
- 10+ years of experience within the defence industry
- 5+ years in project management or lead role
- Experience in design of defence products and functions
- Proficiency with SAP, PowerBI, Jira, Confluence
- Strong knowledge of AS9100
- Strong Knowledge of electronic sub systems and products
- Strong knowledge of MIL-STD and MIL-HDBK military standards, Defence Quality systems and processes
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience within the railways industry (SENIOR Profile)
- Experience in electronics manufacturing
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
