As Data Scientist, you will be accountable to drive bottom-line value by collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to translate data into insight within the European Seed Production and Supply Chain (SPSC) Business Unit.

You Will Be Part of Growing Team

The incumbent reports to the SPSC Operations Planning and System Leader and can be based in any Corteva Seed Production Sites in Europe (Sissa, Aussonne, Parndorf, Afumati, Szarvas, or Adana).

This role provides technical leadership and capability for analytics and visualization within the SPSC function, enabling business success. This is primarily achieved through being embedded in and closely interacting with the SPSC functions and Global SODA team, to identify the business strategies, priorities, and improvements as it relates to reporting, data visualization, and analytics.

To ensure that the analytics implemented are the best available, the Data Scientist is expected to stay abreast of the newest tools and techniques. Through an End to End focus the Data Scientist will provide solutions that differentiate us from our competition.

Your Challenge

Data Management (20%):

• Responsible to ensure that data is collected and retained in a consistent and reliable manner to support any visualization or analytics.
• This requires a knowledge of data warehousing, architecture, and governance in general and BW, SQL, SSIS, Hadoop, as well as other ETL tools such as Alteryx, Data Bricks.

Reporting/Visualization Development (20%):

• Accountable for the support of existing and creation of new data visualizations to support the SPSC functions.
• Knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI, and other visualization tools are needed.

Analytic Model Development (60%):

• Lead the identification and implementation of high-value analytic models to support the SPSC Functions. This involves models that perform statistical analysis, forecasting, prediction, and optimization such as Sourcing Plan Optimizer, Batch Shelf-life prediction.
• Current tools/techniques related to this are R, Python, SAS, Machine Learning, Simulation, Optimization, etc.

Location:

Primary location: Sissa / Cremona, Italy

Secondary locations: Aussonne, Parndorf, Afumati, Szarvas or Adana.

The role will be based at one of the Corteva Seed Production Sites in Europe.

Hybrid conditions may be considered but minimum of 3 days onsite is required.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

• Bachelors Degree / Advanced Degree in relevant discipline. Degrees should be in fields that require quantitative skills and analytical thinking (e.g. STEM), similar to engineering, supply chain, logistics, computer science, or mathematics.
• English language (verbal and written) mandatory.
• Additional local European language would be ideal.
• Proven track record in positions involving high exposure to change management, work process and systems implementations, or cross functional initiatives would be an advantage.
• APICS or other professional certifications are highly recommended.
• Noteworthy talent in communicating with both technical and general audiences as well as the aptitude to translate business strategies into actionable plans.
• While primarily focused on modeling activities, the incumbent has the mental agility and experience to change direction quickly to manage tactical and operational needs when they arise.
• Desire to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
• Demonstrated capability to work independently.
