Overview

Data Handling Subsystem Engineer at Thales Alenia Space. Thales Alenia Space is a joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%) and a global space manufacturer delivering high‑tech solutions for telecommunications, navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, exploration, science and orbital infrastructures. Our customers include governments, institutions, space agencies, and telecommunications operators.

Location: Caselle Torinese, Piedmont, Italy. Posted several weeks ago.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a subset of all the hardware engineering activities applicable to the Specific Engineering speciality.
  • Analyze and define the specific needs using the methods available (e.g., advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, prototypes).
  • Formalize the specification and the architectural design to develop the hardware solution or product.
  • Identify critical development problems and assist in their resolution.
  • Write timely and technically accurate reports of technical findings.
Qualifications
  • Master of Engineering, Computer Science or any other relevant field from University.
  • Significant experience in hardware development, with a focus in the candidate's Specific speciality (e.g., Acoustics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering & Servo-mechanism, Hydrodynamics, Inertia, Quantum technologies, Semiconductor technology, X-Rays, Materials or other Specific technology).
  • Strong team player with ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with clear understanding of organizational goals and strategies.
  • Rigorous, analytical, and capable of evaluating steps and outcomes to improve results.
  • Strong mathematical, scientific and computer science background with knowledge of relevant laws, norms and standards in the Specific speciality.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills, with curiosity and determination to tackle complex issues.
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
