MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is seeking a Data Engineer to join MSC Technology Italy and contribute to the EDMA Data Hub, delivering an interconnected data platform for multiple business domains.

The role focuses on building ingestion and transformation pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and SQL, ensuring quality, performance, and on-call support as needed within an international team.

Qualificações

• Expert in big data technologies and data platforms.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, Spark and Databricks.
• Experience with data lakehouse architectures and large-scale data processing.

Responsabilidades

• Build data ingestion, transformation pipelines and ensure performance.
• Orchestrate pipeline scheduling, fault-tolerance, retries and monitoring.
• Impose data quality measures to meet SLAs across domains.

As a Data Engineer you will be part of MSC’s EDMA Data Hub team, an agile and global team delivering an interconnected data platform to serve business users and products across business domains.

Requisiti

The successful candidate will be an expert in working with big data.

Some responsibilities include:

• Building data ingestion, data transformation pipelines & ensuring they are performant/optimized
• Pipeline/process orchestration – scheduling/triggering, fault-tolerance, retry logic, monitoring/alerting
• Building data quality guarantees into the pipelines, ensures SLAs are met.

Required:

• Experience with Databricks
• Experience in implementing medallion architecture
• Willing to be on call outside office hours a few times a year for support purposes

Nice to have:

• Ingestion from distributed event streaming platform like Kafka
• Knowledge in MS Fabric

The position will be classified within the Employee category, at one of the C2, C3, B1 or B2 levels under the Italian Metalworking Industry National Collective Bargaining Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico Industria).

The classification level and any additional remuneration components supplementing the base salary will be determined based on an assessment, carried out during the selection process, of objective and neutral criteria such as, by way of example, the candidate’s professional experience, technical skills, level of autonomy and the responsibilities required by the role.
