Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and operate data pipelines and analytic workflows across diverse data sources. You will guide a multi-disciplinary team and apply analytics to impact missions, leveraging your Python/SQL/Scala skills in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Expect to work on enterprise-scale data applications, collaborate with analysts and developers, and travel up to 25% as needed. A Secret clearance and a CS/Data Science/Math degree are required.

Data Engineer The Opportunity:

As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it’s gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data engineer like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions. As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll implement data engineering activities on some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry. You’ll deploy and develop pipelines and workflows that organize and make disparate data meaningful. Here, you’ll work with and guide a multi-disciplinary team of analysts, data engineers, developers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment. You’ll use your experience in analytical exploration and data examination while you manage the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of analytic solutions for your clients. You Have:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, application development, or data science
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications for reporting and analytics at enterprise-scale
• 3+ years of experience utilizing programming and querying languages, including Python, R, Scala, or SQL
• Experience creating workflows for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
• Experience creating solutions within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, or Mathematics
• Active passport with at least 6 months validity for the purposes of visa applications

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with Palantir tools such as Foundry or Gaia
• Experience with Advana or other DoD data analytics systems
• Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka
• Experience with data visualization or geospatial tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or ArcGIS
• Experience with Agile engineering practices
• Experience working within a Combatant Command or other DoD organization TS/SCI clearance

TS/SCI clearance Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
