Job Description:

Within the GCAP Joint Venture, in the GCAP Technical Leadership UO, we are looking for a Test Manager for GCAP HQ in Reading, UK.

The Test Manager will define and execute the testing strategy within the Secure Digital Platform department, ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of digital solutions across multiple domains. Reporting to the Head of Secure Digital Platform, the Test Manager will collaborate with Product Owners, Delivery Leads, and cross-functional teams to embed testing best practices throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring all releases meet high standards of performance, compliance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive test strategy aligned with quality standards and security requirements.
• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities across teams and domains.
• Define and implement processes for functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Delivery Leads to integrate testing into Agile cycles.
• Monitor quality metrics, report progress, risks, and indicators to senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing tools, automation, and methodologies.
• Manage and mentor a team of test engineers and QA specialists, fostering a culture of quality.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security policies.
• Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Desirable Certifications:

• Certified Agile Tester (CAT), Scrum Master (CSM/SSM), Project Management (PMP or PRINCE2), Software Quality (CSQA), or relevant certifications.

Seniority: Senior (5-10 years).

Experience and Skills:

• At least 5 years of experience as a Test Manager or QA Lead in large-scale IT environments.
• Strong knowledge of test management, automation, and QA best practices.
• Experience with Agile frameworks and testing integration.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to coordinate across multiple teams in a matrix organization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and digital workplace technologies is a plus.
• Experience in managing and developing high-performing QA teams.
