Army Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) vacancy in Vicenza, Italy seeks a reliable cleaner to maintain rooms, corridors, and facilities. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, disinfect, and assist with linen changes, using a range of cleaning equipment.

The role requires the ability to follow instructions, read signs, and handle common cleaning solvents. You may work evenings, weekends, and special events; health screenings may be required; area within 100 km of Vicenza.

  • Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc. Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities.
  • Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash. May make beds and changes linen. Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt.

Conditions of employment
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and Special MWR events.
  • This position may require a health screening due to the lifting requirement of 40 lbs. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
  • Must be willing and able to stand and walk on hard and carpeted surfaces.

Area of Consideration
  • The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is within the local commuting area. The local commuting area defined as within 100 km (60 miles) of Vicenza, Italy. (Spouse Employment Preference (SEP), Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) and Family Member Preference (FMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)
PCS Costs
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
  • Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid.
