The Corporate Credit Risk unit at BBVA Milano is an integral part of the Global Risk Management – EMEA team. Its main function is to deliver best-in-class credit analysis of corporate clients, monitoring the local portfolio and ensuring the safety and soundness of wholesale lending through risk policy management.
About the role
As a Corporate Credit Risk Associate you will be responsible for:
- Assessing the credit and financial strength of BBVA’s clients by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties, using both quantitative and qualitative factors.
- Preparation, submission for approval and presentation at relevant Credit Committees of Financial Programs through relevant discretion processes.
- Approving utilization of sanctioned limits within discretion.
- Ensuring the establishment and effectiveness of credit policies and risk limits as well as compliance with risk appetite.
- Supporting and providing guidance to other units within BBVA.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience and technical knowledge:
- BA/BSc Finance or Business Management or any other related subject.
- Demonstrable financial services experience of at least 4 years, including credit experience in Banking, Consulting, Credit Risk Management, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Credit Processes.
- Strong analytical skills, including understanding of key financial components (liquidity position, leverage profile, etc.) and the ability to form independent opinions on credit, recognizing emerging risks.
- Solid Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.
- Understanding of banking products and sustainability issues.
Languages
- Spanish and English: fluent.
- Italian is highly valuable.
