We are looking for a qualified professional Contract Manager willing to be part of our Company. You will work in an international Company characterized by high technology complexity.

You will take responsibility for managing active and passive claims:

  • The Contract Manager's duties and responsibilities are to provide appropriate support and guidance to the Project Manager and leadership within the Project team in the management and administration of the contract, consistently with the relevant policies, standards and processes.
  • Participate in all project meetings (internal or with Client/Partners/Major Subcontractors and Vendors) when the agenda relates to the project status, cost and schedule issues in order to be aware of project activities, which may affect Tenova in respect of contractual positions and exposure to risks. The Contract Manager shall issue recommendations to the Project Manager for taking appropriate and timely actions to protect Tenova interests.
  • Initiate, draft and/or review, as the case may be, all incoming and outgoing correspondence with Clients and Partners and, and whenever necessary in case of matters related to Tenova's liabilities, risks and contractual rights, the correspondence to and from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Provide to the procurement manager and the subcontract manager a flow‑down of the contractual requirements to ensure Tenova's obligations set forth in the Prime Contract pertaining to procurement and subcontracting are fulfilled and furthermore to pursue a rational approach and an efficient control of the transfer of the contractual rights & obligations to all parties involved in the project execution under Tenova's responsibility.
  • Provide necessary support in the preparation of the Special Terms & Conditions for procurement and subcontracting and in the negotiation of critical terms with Vendors/Subcontractors thereafter.
  • Work closely with the project control manager to monitor schedule performance and cost trends in order to identify risks and opportunities for revenue enhancement, schedule relief and risks mitigation.
  • Prepare a consolidated analysis of the Contract Terms & Conditions to highlight the areas of risks and opportunities to be pursued. As the work proceeds, the Project Contract Manager shall assist the Project Manager in the management of these risks as they arise and in pursuing the opportunities in accordance with Tenova's targets.
  • Assist the Project Manager in analyzing and tackling project financial issues and follow up the client progress payment and billings to ensure compliance with contract terms and requirements in cooperation with the project controller.
  • Initiate and coordinate the preparation, negotiation and settlement of change orders and claims (EOTs, Acceleration, delays, etc.)
  • Assist the subcontracting and procurement teams in the identification, negotiation and resolution of major change orders and claims of subcontractors and vendors.
  • Work with the other project team members to monitor and identify Client's actions and/or inactions, which could result in contract changes and assist the Project Manager in their resolution with respect to additional compensation and time relief through change order management.
  • Monitor adherence to contract insurance provisions and coordinate any actions required in this regards with Tenova insurance department; ensure that all information needed for insurance claims are collected in due time.
  • Support the Project Manager in the management of Tenova contractual and commercial interests when working in JV or consortium with partners.
  • Liaise and obtain when required legal expertise from the Legal Team (corporate, compliance, litigation, general legal advice) and with other functions (treasury, tax, insurance, etc.) with the purpose of providing to the Project a comprehensive set of legal and contractual services.
Required profile
  • Equivalent Master's Degree, MS/MSc, in engineering or in law
  • Proven minimum 10 years relevant experience in large heavy industrial or Oil & Gas or Infrastructure EPC contracting with an international company is a must
  • Field experience in a construction yards or construction site
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English is a must
  • Possess strong negotiation skills and capacity to influence
  • Ability to manage complexity, including large plant engineering
  • Hands on knowledge and experience in Basic schedule analysis methodologies and Extension of Time claims.
  • Hands on knowledge and experience in Basic cost control analysis methodologies
  • Possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to hold open and direct dialogue with stakeholders
