Continuous Improvement Manager - Bakery Manufacturing

Location: Rome, GA

Join the biggest European Bakery Manufacturer expanding into the US market! Our client recently acquired their first company based in Rome, GA, and they’re on the lookout for an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to join their rapidly growing team. This plant, currently employing 250 employees, plans to double in size within the next 18 months!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support lean manufacturing processes, including continuous improvement, standard work, problem-solving, value stream mapping, training, and employee involvement.

  • Lead, teach, and coach employees at all levels on lean manufacturing processes.

  • Facilitate and maintain the site implementation plan for the lean manufacturing operating system.

  • Drive lean training and implement a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA, value stream mapping, quick changeovers, Kaizen, problem-solving, 5S, etc.

  • Lead continuous improvement events to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and KPI performance.

  • Use tracking and reporting systems to prepare plans, drive performance, and ensure timely achievement of product/process quality and savings goals.

  • Identify barriers to success and seek leadership assistance when needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of manufacturing experience (food/bakery manufacturing preferred).

  • 3+ years of continuous improvement leadership and change management experience.

  • Experience leading continuous improvement teams.

  • Proficiency in leading CI/Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and utilizing lean problem-solving methods.

  • Prefer candidates with 5S experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
