Role Summary

Responsible for leading the product development function for the Sportswear division. The role ensures products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance, quality, and market requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement the product development strategy and roadmap for the Sportswear category.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end product development process, from concept to market launch.
  • Work closely with design, merchandising and supply chain to deliver products on schedule and within cost targets.
  • Translate market insights, athlete feedback, and performance data into product requirements.
  • Monitor trends, technologies, and materials relevant to the sports market.
  • Manage and develop the product development team to ensure high performance and efficiency.
  • Track and report key performance metrics such as timelines, costs, quality, and product margins.
  • Oversee product testing and validation to ensure performance standards are met.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product development, preferably in sports, performance, or outdoor products.
  • Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product lifecycle management.
  • Proven ability to deliver products to market within time and cost constraints.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Intern in Product Management (Italy & East Adriatic)

Join us as an Intern in Product Managementand work alongside experienced professionals on ROCKWOOL’s innovative insulation solutions, which combine high‑quality performance with a meaningful contribution to environmental sustainability.

ROCKWOOL Italia is looking for a motivated and curious Post‑Graduate Intern to support the Head of Product Management for Italy and East Adriatic, who oversees the assigned product portfolio and coordinates all related initiatives in close collaboration with functions across the organization.

Our product range covers the full portfolio of building insulation solutions for the local markets, including internal insulation, facades, roofing systems, and HVAC & Fire Protection applications.

Key activities include:
  • Supporting the analysis and monitoring of the Italian insulation and construction markets, including competitor overview, customer needs, and market trends, to help define and implement product strategies.
  • Assisting in product portfolio management and development: tracking performance, launching new products, and phasing out selected ones in alignment with the sales team.
  • Supporting the introduction of new products for specific projects, in coordination with the technical and sales departments.
  • Contributing to the creation and revision of content for product positioning and value propositions.
  • Preparing presentations for internal meetings and external events.
  • Assisting with project management activities, including KPI tracking, budget monitoring, and timeline management.
  • Managing and updating product information in the PIM (Product Information Management) database, ensuring accurate data across all channels.

RTW Product Development and Sourcing Manager

Product Development & Prototyping

Oversee all product development and prototyping activities, translating design concepts into high‑quality, production‑ready products.

Implement and monitor seasonal development critical paths, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are met across categories and internal departments.

Support the building of the seasonal collection range in partnership with Design and Merchandising, balancing creativity, feasibility, and margin targets.

Organize and lead all prototype and pre‑production (PPS) fittings, ensuring alignment between design, technical, and production teams.

Responsible for Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy and management of the Product Development budget.

Sourcing

Establish and maintain a strong supplier network, leveraging existing relationships and identifying new strategic partners worldwide.

Manage sourcing of raw materials and finished products, ensuring quality, lead time, and cost objectives are achieved.

Support costing activities, including raw materials, prototypes, and finished goods, ensuring alignment with target cost and margin objectives.

Lead vendor communication and follow‑up until production is ready and quality check is done.

Contribute to the industrialization of the production system, improving scalability and process efficiency.

Systems & Process Management

Develop and implement cross‑departmental critical paths to enhance collaboration between Product Development, Design, Merchandising, and Production.

Create and maintain a customized PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system to ensure transparency and accuracy throughout the development process.

Oversee daily product management operations, guaranteeing seamless coordination between internal and external teams.

Profile

7+ years of experience in Product Development, Sourcing, or Supply Chain within the fashion or luxury industry.

Strong technical understanding of product construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.

Proven experience managing suppliers in multiple regions (EU and Asia).

Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.

Fluent in English and Italian.

Proficient in PLM systems and MS Office Suite.
