Job summary

Belmond Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino, is seeking a Commis de Rang for the 2027 season. You will contribute to authentic, luxurious dining experiences at La Terrazza and support the team in delivering exceptional service.

The ideal candidate is fluent in Italian with basic English, has hospitality experience, and is eager to grow professionally within Belmond's luxury portfolio. Accommodation and welfare perks are offered, with a March–November 2027 schedule.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Italian; basic English proficiency is required.
• Tourism or Hospitality degree preferred.
• Previous professional experience in a similar role or school internships.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil operations of F&B at La Terrazza Restaurant according to company policies and standards.
• Manage mise en place and support Chef de Rang during service.
• Clean and set-up floors, tables, chairs, linens, glass and silverware for service.
• Monitor guest experience from arrival to departure to ensure flawless service.
• Communicate clearly and professionally; work as a team to anticipate guests’ needs.
• Embrace Belmond values and participate in ongoing professional growth.

For the next season 2027, we are looking for a Commis de Rang to join our team Splendido!

The ideal candidate is open to new challenges and ready to constantly develop yourself further. He / she is willing to support the team to provide authentic and luxury dining experiences, demonstrating care, curiosity and community.

He/She will reports a Restaurant Manager

Main duties & responsibilities:

• Fulfil the operations of the Food & Beverage on La Terrazza Restaurant - according to the Company policies, high standards and procedures;
• Take care of the mise en place;
• Support the Chef de Rang with service;
• Clean and set-up floors, tables, chairs, linens, glass and silver for service;
• Monitor all aspects of the customers' experience, from the restaurant layout before they arrive to the experience they receive during the service.
• Act to enhance a flawless service and anticipate Guests’ needs.
  

• Effective communication: communicate clearly and in an appropriate manner (both verbally and non-verbally);
• Emotional intelligence: demonstrate sensitivity to the needs and emotions of guests and colleagues and adjust his/her style to them.
• Adaptability: identify when a different approach is needed and offer solutions;
• Collaboration: be able and willing to work as a team player e Share information and skills and actively seek and provide feedback;
• Fluent in Italian and basic level of English;
• Tourism or Hospitality degree preferred;
• Previous professional experience in a similar role, also with school internships;
• Passion for service and ambition to grow professionally;

• We offer seasonal Labour contract according to C.C.N.L. Settore Turismo - Level 5, Commis de Rang;
• Start date: March 2027 to End date: November 2027, with the aim of a continuous collaboration over subsequent seasons at Splendido and a career path;
• Monthly gross salary + separate payslip for 13°,14° and TFR;
