Overview

Wild Country is a heritage climbing brand within the Oberalp Group. We are building a fast-growing Climbing Gym Business Unit, bringing our brands and services to the heart of the indoor climbing scene. To support our expansion, we are looking for a Commercial Manager who will lead the commercial development of Wild Country and our Climbing Gym Business.

Responsibilities
  • Drive omni-channel growth for Wild Country through new and existing distribution
  • Align marketing, product, and sales execution with commercial goals
  • Attend trade shows, key account meetings, and regional activations to gather market insights and build brand presence
  • Identify and execute partnerships with key climbing gyms across priority markets
  • Create commercial opportunities with gyms to increase brand visibility and revenue
  • Be the internal ambassador for the climbing gym business within the Oberalp organization
  • Implement brand distribution strategies across all channels to exceed market share targets
  • Analyze sell-in and sell-out data and competitor insights to refine growth strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and deliver effective selling strategies
  • Act as the point of contact for trade marketing teams and ensure consistent use of marketing assets across all communications
  • Use market expertise and climbing knowledge to identify trends and consumer preferences
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to support commercial and product strategy decisions
Profile / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Product Development, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus
  • Proven experience in a commercial role in the outdoor or climbing gym industry
  • Strong understanding of climbing culture and well-connected in the gym and outdoor market
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative mindset and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • High availability to travel frequently
