Commercial Director & Country Lead for Italy

We are currently looking for a Commercial Director & Country Lead for Italy to join our team at our offices in Bergamo. The candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing the commercial strategy for the Italian market.

Responsibilities
  • Leads all commercial activities in the country, including business development, sales execution, and key customer relationships. Developing and managing the portfolio of clients: prospecting new clients, retaining existing clients, understanding their needs, and offering tailored solutions.
  • Ensures the local commercial strategy aligns with regional objectives and delivers on agreed performance targets: translating objectives into concrete actions, coordinating the execution of the action plan, effectively using CRM tools, managing the budget…
  • Represents the company with customers, partners, authorities, and other external stakeholders. Participating in the development of the distribution network: identifying acquisition opportunities (existing facilities or land to be developed) and presenting them to the Board.
  • Serves as the senior point of coordination in-country, helping connect functional teams and raise local issues where needed. Creating and maintaining close and confident relationships and partnerships with all the company departments (IT, logistics, marketing, communication…).
  • Participates and represents the country in relevant projects, events, and meetings, either internally or externally. Leading the field sales team: setting objectives, providing tools, daily management.
  • Promotes company values and culture, providing leadership and visibility for the organization in that market. Ensuring monitoring of the regulatory evolutions.
  • Reports on his/her activities: developing specific KPIs, analyzing results, presenting reports to management.

Requirements
  • Higher education, such as a Business School.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, which may have been gained:
    • energy origination or trading
    • road fuels supply
    • industrial sales
  • Thorough understanding of the EU and National regulation shaping energy transition in industrial and transport sector (e.g., RED III, ETS).
  • Proven basic understanding of energy technical and commercial fundamentals.
  • Fluent English and Italian.
