Cloud Data Engineer

Overview: BIP – xTech is a Center of Excellence in Big Data, Data Science, RPA, Cloud, Blockchain, and Networking. The role focuses on designing, building, deploying, and maintaining data platforms and pipelines on cloud or hybrid environments, supporting ingestion, transformation, and analytics for various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Operate on Big Data or hybrid platforms, on‑premises or cloud, implementing batch or real‑time pipelines, transformation, and treatment of structured and unstructured data.
• Acquire, historize, cleanse, anonymize/crypt, mask, handle null/ outlier values, aggregate, structure data, create KPI quality metrics, and prepare data for diverse users (Data Scientists, BI tools, relational and non‑relational stores, external API applications).
• Receive, optimize, and schedule Machine Learning models for scalable execution, applying parallelism where appropriate.
• Choose and implement cloud‑native, globally scalable architectures, selecting best technologies for complex pipelines, maximizing reuse, quality, efficiency, performance, and documentation.
• Provide advisory to select engineering technologies for emerging and existing Big Data architectures.
• Demonstrate and evolve client relationship skills, ensuring delivery of the best solution aligned with client requirements.
• Contribute to community activities, research, scouting, new solution concepts, and business development.

Qualifications

• Experience in implementing and managing cloud‑based data platforms.
• Knowledge of one or more cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and associated data management, processing, and analytics services.
• Understanding of modern data platform concepts (Big Data, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Virtualization, Data Mesh, Data Governance).
• Experience designing data models and building/maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Proficiency in one or more programming and data query languages (SQL, Java, Ruby, Python, R).
• Deep knowledge of technologies for both structured and unstructured databases (BigQuery, MongoDB, Hadoop, Redis).
