A consultancy client of mine is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to join their dynamic team. • Design, implement, and optimise scalable, secure cloud architectures across GCP, Azure, or AWS.
• Lead cloud migration projects, including assessment, planning, and execution of workloads to the cloud.
• Develop high‑availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies aligned with business continuity requirements.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and security standards are met across all cloud environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, development, and security teams to define cloud best practices and architectural standards.
• Produce architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and design proposals for stakeholders.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud‑native services, tooling, and automation solutions to improve performance and cost efficiency.
• Oversee infrastructure‑as‑code deployments using tools such as Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation, or Deployment Manager.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance during project delivery and cloud adoption initiatives.
• Conduct performance tuning, cost optimisation, and resource utilisation reviews.
• Manage integrations between cloud services and on‑premises systems (hybrid architectures).

Key Skills & Qualifications – Cloud Architect

• Cloud certification in at least one major provider:
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional)
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
• Expertise in security best practices, IAM design, encryption, key management, and zero‑trust principles.
• Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM/Bicep.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of containers and orchestration, especially Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to design systems with scalability, resilience, and cost optimisation in mind.
• Strong hands‑on experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, GCP Operations Suite, Prometheus, etc.).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work in complex, multi‑cloud or hybrid environments.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience writing clear technical documentation and architectural design artefacts.
