Role Summary and Impact
WPP Mediais looking for a Category Lead,reporting to the ClientDirector,whohas the responsibility to control and coordinate, also operationally, the correct planning of media campaigns of assigned client.
He/Shewill manage the relationship with the client and will strive to ensure the preparation of media plans, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines andthe deliveryto the clients.
He/Shewill support the ClientDirectorin developing innovative projects of communication planning, promoting the use ofAgency’stools and technologies.
The role includes daily interaction with the agency’s staff functions: Strategic, Digital, Technology, Commercial.
Key Responsibilities
- Managinghigh-level relationships with Marketing and Media departments of assigned clients, acting as a trusted strategicadvisorand ensuring deep alignment with their business visions and expansion paths.
- Leadingthe definition of innovative communication strategies, promoting the adoption ofcutting-edgeagency tools, technologies, and pioneeringnew approachesin media planning and execution.
- Drivingthe integration and strategic application of Digital Media, Tech, and Martech solutions into client strategies, ensuring a full-funnel approach and fostering digital transformation.
- Managing strategicallythe budget of assigned brands,identifyingand meeting unmet client needs, and defining success through key performance indicators related to client satisfaction, value delivery, and business growth.
- Coordinatingdaily interactions with internal agency functions (Strategic, Digital, Technology, Commercial)andensuring seamless collaboration andleveragingtheWPPnetwork's diverse capabilities formaximumclient impact.
- Overseeingcomplex problem-solving initiatives, integrating cross-disciplinary insights to arrive at strategic solutions, and servingas a principal advisor on risk, steering organization-wide initiatives that improve risk identification and assessment.
- Conductingadvanced competitive analysis to inform strategic recommendations and position clients for market differentiation.
- Supportingthe Client Director in developing innovative projects and contributingto fostering a culture of continuous learning and talent development within the team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in strategic media leadership or client management within the media industry, preferably with a focus onPharma orFMCG clients.
- Degree orequivalentcultural background.
- Demonstratedexpertise instrategicmedia planning and a deepunderstandingof the evolvingdigital, tech, andmartechlandscape.
- Proventrack recordin developing and implementing full-funnel digital strategies.
- Exceptional client advocacy and negotiation skills, with a history of shaping client engagements andoptimizingbusiness success.
- Strongstrategicand commercialacumen, with theabilitytoidentifygrowthopportunitiesand drivevaluefor clients and the agency.
- Previousexperience in a strategic role or a strong strategiccomponentwithinpastpositionwill be considered as a plus.
