P49 Benefit Corporation Srl in Padova appoints a Chief Technology Officer to define the technology vision, product architecture and AI strategy, with direct accountability to the founders.

You will build and lead the engineering organization, govern the architecture, security and scalability of AI-native products, and set the strategy across LLMs and multi-provider orchestration. On-site presence in Padova is expected, collaborating with founders and product teams.

P49 — a strategic hybrid-AI hub based in Padova — builds human-centric AI products across multiple verticals: Miky, Call P49, Giurify, Music Republic, Nova Astra and the ecosystem's future projects. We are appointing our Chief Technology Officer: a leadership figure with a proven track record in growing technology organisations, entrusted with defining the technology vision, product architecture and AI strategy, with direct accountability to the founders. THE MANDATE

• Define and own P49's technology vision and technical roadmap, with full accountability to the founders.


• Build and lead the engineering organisation: talent selection, team structure, technical culture and professional development.


• Govern the architecture, resilience, security and scalability of the ecosystem's growing AI-native products.


• Set the AI strategy across products — LLMs, multi-provider orchestration, agentic AI — with a medium-term outlook.


• Exercise decision leadership on technology choices, build-vs-buy decisions and technical investments, balancing execution speed with sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership of the engineering organisation: priorities, delivery capacity and people development, on-site and remote.


• End-to-end architecture ownership: frontend, backend, microservices and Azure infrastructure.


• Governance of AI integrations and the internal multi-provider orchestrator.


• Technical roadmap, capacity planning, estimations and continuous alignment with founders and product.


• Definition of engineering standards: code quality and security, strategic reviews and release processes.


• Management of Azure infrastructure (Container Apps, managed PostgreSQL with pgvector, Blob Storage) and CI/CD pipelines.


• Daily collaboration with the founders at the Padova office, with an active role in strategic product decisions.

THE PROFILE

• Established track record as CTO or Head of Engineering in scaling start-ups or scale-ups.


• Proven experience building and leading engineering organisations, on-site and remote.


• Deep command of the TypeScript/Node.js/React stack and PostgreSQL.


• Hands-on experience in the AI domain: Anthropic, OpenAI, orchestrators, agentic AI.


• Experience with B2B AI-native products or regulated environments.


• Excellent command of the English language.


• Availability to work on-site at P49's Padova office, in close contact with the founders.


• Distinguishing assets: Python/FastAPI, pgvector, Microsoft Azure, prior experience with B2B SaaS products.

TECH STACK

• Frontend: React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS + shadcn/ui, TanStack Query, React Router, React Hook Form + Zod, i18next, TipTap, Recharts.


• Backend: Node.js 20, strict-mode TypeScript, Hono, Drizzle ORM, PostgreSQL, Zod, JWT (jose), WebSocket, Stripe, SSE.


• Infrastructure: Microsoft Azure (Container Apps, managed PostgreSQL with pgvector, Blob Storage), multi-stage Docker, GitHub Actions.


• AI: direct integration with Anthropic (Claude) through an internal multi-provider orchestrator, ready for additional providers.


• Python microservices (adjacent area): FastAPI, Docling for OCR, Presidio + spaCy for PII anonymization, local embeddings with pgvector.


• Quality: Vitest, ESLint, Prettier, automated architectural rules on layer boundaries.

CONTRACT

Permanent, full-time contract, on-site at P49's Padova office. Compensation commensurate with the candidate's level of experience, defined at the end of the selection process. The offer includes a milestone-based stock option plan with vesting, consistent with a leadership role. The selection process includes interviews with the founders and a technical-strategic deep dive.
