About the role

The mission of this role is to lead the Italian Off Trade and On Trade Category Development, identifying opportunities to grow in TBA delivering triple win – for Consumers, Customers and Diageo.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Establish Diageo as the go to supplier (and most trusted/respected) for category management across all strategic customers by delivering ‘Best In Class’ Category Management to include industry leading insights delivered through unbiased recommendations in a compelling & action orientated way.
  • Owns the vision for long term Category Growth Strategy across the business.
  • Leads the Customer Value Creation agenda and partners with KAMs to develop and deliver JBPs tailored to customer objectives and stage of development.
  • Lead the principles of category management such as portfolio range, space and navigation and prioritises and implements these with customers to unlock mutual growth.
  • Lead channel prioritization
  • With KAMs, leads sophisticated holistic business conversations with customers working in partnership with them to drive medium-long term category growth and deliver quality Diageo market share.
  • Leads the retail transformation agenda in the market with strategic customers.
  • Inputs into Trade Strategy.
  • Work with senior stakeholders (up to director level) in our customers’ businesses to identify opportunities to grow TBA, strategically partnering with our customers’ teams to analyze the future trends in the market & building collaborative plans focused on growth.
  • Make in outlet navigation (assortment, merchandising, pricing, promotion, display) simple and commercially focused, and in doing so, give our customers a compelling point of difference in their range.
  • Collaborate with commercial, consumer marketing, shopper marketing, customer marketing, Innovation, RGM, and link with Diageo Global Teams to drive tangible actions from insight that will drive the triple win for Diageo, Customer and shopper.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report category performance using KPIs; adjust strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets
About you
  • +6 years proven experience in FMCG industry
  • Commercial (KAM), Trade Marketing Manager and Cat Dev experience
  • Italian Market knowledge
  • Proficiency in English and Italian
  • Strategical attitude and Negotiation skills
  • You're successful in managing senior partners, resulting in strong and positive outcomes. You have a complete skill set across various marketing growth drivers as well as a track record of delivering ground-breaking business results.
  • You're comfortable with dealing with ambiguity, complexity and working within a fast-paced and matrixed environment. You have a strong commercial and numerical capability with attention to detail.
