FLS Transportation seeks an entry-level Carrier Relations/ After-hours Track-and-Trace representative for its Rome, GA office. Transportation experience is a plus, but not required. The schedule is as follows:
Sunday 0700-1600
Monday 0900-2000
Thursday 1100-1800
Friday 1100-2000
Saturday 0700-1600
Job responsibilities include:
Afterhours Logistics Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Answering incoming emails and phone calls in a timely manner from customers, shipper/receivers, carrier dispatchers and drivers.
- Track and trace shipments with carriers using all communication means (driver/dispatcher phone, text, email, ELD links, MacroPoint) and address any issues during transit with the carrier, customer and shipper/consignee.
- Use customer knowledge, industry experience and information listed on the load to problem solve as issues arise.
- Promptly notify the operations team of any load issues and act as noted in the Afterhours Instruction load field.
- Accept customer tenders and update customer portals as required.
- Communicate with shippers/receivers and operations team when appointments need to be rescheduled, sending updated rate confirmation to carrier with appointment revisions.
- Assist in recovery of loads when needed by using various software tools to source carrier equipment.
- Negotiate rates with carriers to maximize profitability and tender loads when inbound phone calls and emails are received.
Carrier Relations Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all carriers available for use under FLS branch operations meet the minimum requirements of the corporation. This includes reviewing “On Hold” carriers in Highway to complete onboarding or dismiss.
- Review and process carrier Insurance certificates.
- Execute Carrier Relations Requests in an expeditious manner while adhering to compliance requirements.
- Receive and review carrier complaints against FLS and provide notice as needed to Director of Ops Support.
- Quote and execute Insurance Riders to cover high value and LTL loads.
- Execute Comdata Comchecks for lumpers and when approved by management, fuel advances.
- Complete credit applications and provide to Director of Ops Support for final approval and signature.
- Export carrier contacts and send mass communications via Constant Contact to carriers.
- Using resources such as Highway Load Lock, Freight Guard reports, Cargo Net reports and DNL reports, safeguard FLS from fraudulent carriers.
- Daily review unreleased and released FreightGuard reports. Communicate with AP Adjustments to hold carrier pay for double brokering reports.
- In a timely manner, respond to incoming phone calls and emails to the Carrier Relations department.
- Process CPAT monitoring of cross border carriers.
- Daily updating carrier visibility integrations for ELD tracking based on reports from tracking providers.
- Assist accounting department with carrier inquires as and vendor set ups.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
