We are seeking to fill the position of Business Support Assistant G4 (Finance), based in the WFP UNHRD Brindisi hub. The United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) is a network of strategically located hubs in Brindisi, Accra, Dubai, Panama and Kuala Lumpur, established to support humanitarian organizations and the broader international community in responding to emergencies and crises. UNHRD provides essential services such as storage, easy access to critical supplies, and technical assistance. The position holder will work under the supervision of the Head of Finance in a team that provides support for all financial services to the entire UNHRD Network.
The incumbent will support the UNHRD Network Finance function and contribute to the effective management of accounts payable, customer billing, master data management, cash administration, and internal control activities.
Knowledge of finance and accounting principles. Some experience using office equipment and computer software packages such as MS Word and MS Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookup functions). Ability to identify data discrepancies and rectify problems requiring attention. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to details. Uses tact and courtesy to give and receive information to a wide range of individuals. Flexibility and willingness to learn, with the ability to adapt to different tasks and priorities.
Knowledge of accounts payable workflows and invoice tracking systems. Experience supporting audit activities and internal control processes. Familiarity with International Accounting Standards (IFRS/IPSAS).
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is desirable.
Experience: At least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, budget, treasury, or related business support functions. Experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, and financial reconciliation activities. Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP, or similar enterprise resource planning platforms. Experience in an international organization, humanitarian environment, or shared service setting is desirable.
Language: Fluency (Level C) in English.

Brindisi salary scale: UN - Salary Scale Applicants must: Be an Italian or other EU citizen, or hold a valid permit to live and work in Italy; and Live within commuting distance (100 km or approximately 1.5 hours of travel time) of the WFP UNHRD Brindisi Hub, or be willing to relocate at their own expense to an area within commuting distance of the duty station.
