Job Title: Business Development Manager

Reporting to: Senior Development Manager

Location: Milan, Italy

Overview

What You’ll Do

Inside the Business Development unit, support activities to secure pipeline growth aligned with company targets and bring projects through the acquisition, filing stages and Ready To Build status, through Financial Close and Construction/Operation. Regularly report and update project authorization timelines, environmental issues/solutions, liquidity prospects and budgeting through the proper company IT platform.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with internal support functions (Legal, Grid, Commercial Engineering, Power Markets, Planning, Structured Finance) and external advisors to evaluate greenfield and/or Co-Dev opportunities in PV and BESS markets to secure pipeline growth aligned with yearly targets.
  • Support and coordinate third-party developers or service providers in issuing project applications to relevant authorities and obtaining legal authorizations for installation and operation of ground-mounted PV plants and BESS units.
  • Support and coordinate with internal support functions and third-party developers in integrating documents and providing feedback to Authorities during the permitting process.
  • Assist in updating forecasting dashboards for permitting processes (timeline, budgeting, cash flow forecasts, financial impacts of potential unforeseen factors) and transmit to top management.
  • Coordinate with third-party developers and local authorities in managing environmental mitigation propositions and related issues.
  • Interface with competent authorities and stakeholders (including municipalities and landowners) involved in project authorizations.
  • Support other teams in M&A deals or disputes, including financial models management and technical due diligence.
  • Assist for business lines in managing technical due diligence activities.
Knowledge
  • General knowledge of the current regulatory framework in Italian PV and BESS markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of both greenfield development and co-development processes.
  • Ability to reflect assumption changes into financial model analyses.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language.
  • Ability in constraint analysis for PV sites; GIS knowledge is a plus.
Qualifications
  • Five-year degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Development Manager in the PV market.
  • Experience in BESS business development is a plus.
  • Experience and interpersonal skills in managing relations with public organizations.
