Job Purpose
Responsibility of this role is to steer and accelerate the drive towards best‑in‑class supply chain practices within the assigned Business Unit, roll‑out the supply chain strategy and the roadmap, and involve relevant stakeholders (Local Supply Chain managers, Procurement, Sales, etc.). This includes growing an agile matrix organization, developing a pipeline of major opportunity projects, and maximizing supply chain support for cost‑out initiatives and profitable growth agendas.
Job Dimensions & Scope
- Process: Follow and implement the supply chain performance with short‑term planning and outperformance versus budgeted total cost.
- Key performance indicators: DIFOT, PBIT impact, working capital.
Principal Accountabilities
- Strengthen functional capability.
- Network: Support the assigned Operations Director, partner with plant management teams, and engage functional communities across the BU to strengthen expertise and drive business contribution on working capital and PBIT.
- Best practices: Ensure timely sharing and application of supply chain best practices within the BU.
- Processes: Partner with plant teams to roll out streamlined and improved processes, ensuring homogeneity of approaches where needed.
- Exposure: Grow understanding of supply‑chain matters across the organization, educate, coach, and inspire senior managers to become role models.
- Grow business contribution.
- Execution & monitoring: Be accountable for consistent supply‑chain KPIs and monitor capability across the BU.
- Key transversal projects: Identify big‑ticket items and steer cross‑functional projects as required.
- Simplification: Contribute to or initiate simplification projects, optimizing manufacturing processes and streamlining SKU portfolios.
- Step change platform roll out: Support development and facilitate rollout of step‑change platforms across plants and BUs beyond pilot sites.
- Specifics Activities
- Strategy Implementation:
- Translate the overall strategic plan into concrete operational plans and follow up via roadmaps.
- Ensure correct implementation of strategy and intervene to redirect resources when necessary.
- Accountable for supply‑chain performance and report on KPIs.
- S&OP with month‑by‑month deliverables on sales and operations planning.
- Results Achievement:
- Support the Operations Director, plant GMs, supply‑chain managers and sales to ensure the right professionals are in place to achieve the operating plan.
- Develop the capabilities of the supply‑chain team members within the BU.
- Reporting:
- Track operational excellence KPIs and develop systems for regular, high‑quality decision‑making information.
- Minimize reporting effort while maximizing information quality.
- Follow up and report on achievements versus previous year and agreed targets.
Qualifications and Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
- Multi‑site supply chain management.
- People & change management.
- Engineering, continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence.
- OHSE internal & external rules & regulations.
Education and Certifications:
- Degree in engineering, business or related field.
- Additional certification as either a Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt is desired.
