WORK PURPOSE

Branch Procurement Manager will be responsible for providing procurement support for the projects and African branch needs, ensuring that all activities are fulfilled in accordance with Company approved Standards and requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for local Branch procurement activities.
  • Responsible for identifying local suppliers and researching products and/or services to be purchased from a set list.
  • Handles negotiations directly together with the Local Buyers and manages the flow of information and purchase database.
  • Oversee the work of Local Buyers and liaise with Project Managers/Construction Managers/Project Procurement Coordinators in the management of local orders for operational projects.
  • Responsible for the quality of relations with local suppliers, ensuring their qualifications and their performance monitoring.
  • Responsible for monitoring Local Purchasing Office efficiency in terms of savings obtained, supply failures, order punctuality and precision.
  • Work in accordance with the Company& objectives and procedures.
  • Checks that the Particular Purchase Conditions, laid down for the Project, are wholly applicable to the local purchase contracts and, if not, reports the matter to the Project Procurement Coordinator.
  • Coordinate with expediting, inspection and logistics in achieving procurement goals.
  • Resolve procurement and contractual issues with vendors.
REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Must have:

  • Capability to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Good IT skills and knowledge;
  • Experience in similar procurement positions;

Nice to have:

  • Fluency in French;
QUALIFICATIONS

Must have:

  • High School Diploma

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or economics, Master’s Degree preferred.
